We’re walking on Sunday, May 17, 2009, to raise awareness about mental illness in Oregon and Southwest Washington. This is our seventh annual walk in Portland. Our goals for this year are to have 2,000 walkers and to raise $225,000.
Mental illness affects many more people than AIDS and breast cancer combined, but we’re still far behind in strength and visibility. The time has come to change that! NAMIWalks is a great opportunity to educate everyone in the community about mental health.
Take a look around our blog and see why we’re walking – and join us.
